AUC to Host Chinese-African Higher Education Forum

On the occasion of the Year of Education initiative in Egypt and the country’s presidency of the African Union, AUC is organizing the Chinese-African Higher Education Forum, which will take place on April 2 and April 3, 2019 at the New Cairo campus, hosting leaders of more than 20 Chinese, African and Egyptian universities. In demonstrating our commitment to lifelong and wide-spread learning, SCE supported another round of mentor training programs for early-learning English teachers. The School of Continuing Education at the American University in Cairo is implementing the 2020 English Language Mentors program on behalf of the US Embassy in Cairo. This program highlights the positive working relationship between AUC and the Regional English Language Office at the US Embassy in Cairo. It brings together talented professionals at AUC, American-English language specialists and highly motivated Egyptian teachers who will be trained to be mentors to their colleagues.

This Is What It Looks Like When You Learn with Passion

Initially, Darine Ishaaq picked up the English language in the most organic way. She is now in her third year of SCE’s "English language skills for basic, independent, and advanced learners" opportunity. Launched in 2015 by our very own Ahmed Awaad, this K-12 supplemental edutainment program is based on the Common European Framework Point of Reference (CEFR). Ishaaq is one of 18,000 learners across six governorates so far to take their passion for the language to the classroom.

SCE Attains Third Reaccreditation by IACET

Before the world came to a standstill, SCE began 2020 by celebrating its re-accreditation from the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). IACET is the premier accrediting organization for continuing education and training, and this is SCE’s third accreditation with the organization. SCE was first accredited by IACET in 2010, with each accreditation period lasting five years.
