Society for Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning Enablers (SCALE)

SCALE offers SCE a unique opportunity to extend its mission beyond the classroom, creating a living network of lifelong learners and enablers who give back to their communities.

Members of Society for Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning Enablers (SCALE) are lifelong learning advocates who represent SCE’s values that support of SCE’s mission, through promoting intergenerational learning and knowledge exchange through structured engagement and creating a sustainable platform that links education, employability, and community empowerment.

As part of the SCALE Society at the School of Continuing Education in The American University in Cairo (SCE-AUC),  members receive exclusive access to professional learning opportunities at preferred rates designed to support their continuous professional development.

SCALE members are entitled to a 10% discount on selected professional programs offered by SCE.

SCALE members may also nominate one or more non-members to enroll in the same programs through them. Nominated participants receive a 5% discount, provided that the nominee:

  • Is not currently enrolled in any SCE course
  • Has not previously studied at SCE

This benefit allows members to extend the value of lifelong learning to their professional networks while promoting the culture of continuing education.

Registration is conducted on a first-come, first-served basis, and availability may vary depending on program capacity.

Membership Criteria

  • Be an SCE alumnus/alumna or current participant in SCE programs
  • Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning and community service
  • Be willing to donate time for volunteering, mentorship, or training activities
  • Act as a positive ambassador of SCE and its values
  • (Optional) Submit a short motivation statement or attend an informal interview
