    The CMA program is composed of two parts: 

    Part I: Financial Planning, Performance, and Analytics

    Part II: Strategic Financial Management 

    • Financial statement analysis

    Exam

    The CMA exam is designed to develop and measure critical thinking and decision-making skills. All examinations are offered by Prometric, a worldwide network of testing centers. The exam is offered according to the following schedule:

    • January and February
    • April, May, and June
    • September and October

    The scores will be mailed approximately six weeks after the end of the month the applicant took the test.

    All exams are computer-based with multiple-choice and essay questions.

    Financial Planning, Performance, and Control
    Four hours – 100 questions and two essay questions.

    Financial Decision Making
    Four hours – 100 questions and two essay questions.
