Financial and Managerial Accounting Associate (FMAA) Preparation Course

The FMAA preparation course is designed to equip students with a solid understanding of financial and managerial accounting principles, concepts and techniques. The course will cover essential topics such as financial statement analysis, cost accounting, budgeting and decision-making. By the end of the course, students will be well-prepared for the FMAA exam and have the practical skills needed to excel in accounting-related roles.

*Continuing education unit equals 10 contact hours.

1. Explain the fundamental principles of accounting, including the accounting equation, double-entry bookkeeping system and different types of accounts (assets, liabilities, equity, revenue and expense)
2. Analyze business activities and classify them into appropriate financial statement elements
3. Apply the key principles of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to the preparation of financial statements
4. Calculate financial ratios and evaluate a company's profitability, liquidity, solvency and efficiency
5. Assess internal controls implemented by a company to safeguard cash and receivables
6. Formulate and implement effective test-taking strategies, including time management techniques and question-deconstruction methods, to maximize success on the FMAA exam
