This workshop aims to introduce the participants to the hearing disability and the different types of the deaf, introducing different communication methods with the deaf.
The English curriculum is aligned to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) for languages. It takes learners from the beginning of the A1 stage to the end of the B2 stage using digital resources.
The program uses the process writing method to guide learners through the prewriting stage, such as brainstorming and organizing thoughts, the while-writing stage through creating drafts, and the post-writing stage through revising and reflecting.
This program consists of nine CFR aligned courses starting from CEFR A2 to CEFR B2, in a learner-centered, task-based and flipped classroom. Learners participate in speech tasks, which are intended to improve their communication skills.
This is a course in Modern Standard Arabic for learners with no prior exposure. It emphasizes the development of the ability to write and read with a special focus on mastering pronunciation. It starts with focusing on the alphabet's writing and sound production, writing words, and constructing simple short sentences.
The course covers various familiar everyday expressions aimed at the satisfaction of the needs of a concrete type. This is an intensive 40-hour course in spoken Arabic of Cairo, offered twice a year before the fall and spring semesters to International students joining The American University in Cairo (AUC).
