The course covers various familiar everyday expressions aimed at the satisfaction of the needs of a concrete type. This is an intensive 40-hour course in spoken Arabic of Cairo, offered twice a year before the fall and spring semesters to International students joining The American University in Cairo (AUC).

- Increase the ability to introduce yourself and ask and answer questions about personal details
- Increase the ability to handle interactions such as taking a taxi, asking and giving directions; dealing with money; shopping for food, clothes, and emergencies
- Increase the ability of speaking and listening skills
All participants must fill out the Survival Arabic Form and answer all questions accurately.
