SCE Learning Modalities

In line with our mission and vision to provide lifelong learning, and extend the resources of School of Continuing Education (SCE) to the diverse needs of all learners and ensure we are catering to a wide array of students, and providing learning opportunities that fulfill the different needs, the SCE now provides different modes of asynchronous and synchronous learning modalities that aim at providing ultimate learning flexibility at all times.

Is a form of education/learning modality in which learners and instructors are in the same place, at the same time, in order for learning to take place. This includes in-person classes or live online meetings.

F2F Class

Face to Face

Regular face-to-face classes with campus attendance using Moodle and other tools provided by the instructor to complete assignments and assessments. 

Live Online

Live Online

Online/virtual classes with full time instructors. Using online tools, Moodle collaborate, chat rooms, and other online tools provided by the instructor to complete assignments and assessments.

Is a form of education/learning modality that does not occur in the same place or at the same time. It uses resources that facilitate information sharing outside the constraints of time and place among students.

 

Self Paced Instructor Led

Self Paced Instructor Led

Online learning modality through the available learning material, with weekly office hours and instructor feedback on assignments and assessments. Modules are opened on a weekly basis and set assignment completion dates.

Online learning with complete learner autonomy where it proceeds based on learner's response through the available learning material, using online tools for completing assignments and online assessment
