Synchronous online learning and English language teaching require interaction but not face-to-face learning. Instead, they focus on matching tools and skills with high-impact, with which active learning strategies are used to enhance student engagement. In this 20-hour hands-on course, participants will learn about matching English language skills with essential digital literacies for 21st-century teaching. The focus is on the needs of teachers who teach English language skills online for various reasons. Participants will go beyond learning about the skills needed to apply to select tech tools to their specific learning contexts. They will also be able to develop their ability to judge when, how, and with which students to use such proposed skills and tools.

- Apply best practices for teaching English language skills in an online interactive, integrated learning environment
- Apply methods of facilitating online discussions, giving presentations, and creating projects in an online context
- Analyze methods of engaging and motivating learners in an online English skills course
- Create interactive, integrated English skills lessons using G-suite tools and other free online tools
- A bachelor’s degree
- Proof of being an English Teacher at any institution
- Good knowledge of PC applications (Microsoft Office) and the ability to search for and share information and submit assignments to the trainer(s) must have an active Google mail account
