** Learners who completed a foundation certificate or AUC continuing education certificate are required to sit for the SEPT if they dropped out for a period of one year or more from the date of completing the certificate.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Applying electronic resources on translation and interpreting, introduction to website localization, and investigation of the online market and environment of translation and interpreting.
- Translating effectively so that the target structure would be as close as possible to the original composition, striking a balance between naturalness and accuracy.
- Transferring different grammatical functions and structures from English into Arabic and vice versa appropriately, without compromising the meaning.
- Producing equivalent messages that are linguistically and grammatically clear. English to Arabic translation constitutes 70 percent, and Arabic into English represents 30 percent of the course material.
- Enhancing the speed of the mental translation process, in addition to providing hands-on practice of the three different modes of interpreting.

- Applicant must pass the Standardized English Proficiency Test (SEPT) or Online English Placement Test (OEPT) and score course ENGGB2A.
- Applicants who score ENGGB1C from SEPT or pass ENGGB1B can take either English for Translators SLET 101 60 hours or ENGG B1C and ENGG B1D.
- Applicants must pass the Arabic Proficiency Test (APT) with a minimum grade of 80.
- Applicants who score from 60 to 79 percent on the APT must take the Arabic grammar ARBF 101 course.
- Applicants must have basic computer literacy.
