ILACE 2026 Brings the Language Assessment Community Together to Explore Innovation and Integrity in the AI Era

AUC's SCE successfully hosted the 12th International Language Assessment Conference in Egypt (ILACE 2026) under the theme “Innovation and Integrity: Language Assessment in the AI Era.”

The conference brought together 700 attendees representing 8 nationalities and 103 presenters from 6 nationalities for two days of professional learning, research exchange, and meaningful dialogue on the evolving field of language assessment.

The program featured 47 presentations, 35 workshops, 4 poster sessions, 6 sponsored sessions, and 2 plenary speeches, offering participants opportunities to explore emerging research, practical assessment approaches, and the growing impact of artificial intelligence on language education and assessment.

With a focus on connecting research and practice, ILACE 2026 addressed key issues including AI-generated assessment, feedback and diagnostics, assessment literacy, academic integrity, assessment policies, curriculum integration, evidence-based practices, and accessibility and inclusivity.

Through engaging sessions, expert insights, and professional connections, ILACE 2026 provided a valuable platform for educators, researchers, assessment specialists, and language professionals to exchange ideas and contribute to the ongoing conversation about the future of language assessment.
