The CMA program is composed of two parts:
Part I: Financial Planning, Performance, and Analytics

Exam
The CMA exam is designed to develop and measure critical thinking and decision-making skills. All examinations are offered by Prometric, a worldwide network of testing centers. The exam is offered according to the following schedule
- January and February
- May and June
- September and October
Exam results will be emailed to candidates and posted to their IMA transcript approximately six weeks after the end of the month the candidate took the test.
All exams are computer-based with multiple-choice questions followed by two case-based questions.
CMA Part I: Financial Planning, Performance, and Analytics
Four hours - 100 multiple-choice questions followed by two case-based questions.
CMA Part II: Strategic Financial Management
Four hours - 100 multiple-choice questions followed by two case-based questions.
